Bibendum! Annual Spring lunch at the Historic Michelin Tyre Hall, Chelsea - 25th April 2024

Our host chef Claude Bosi has had a very busy year. His star is certainly in the ascendant. As well as running the famous Bibendum restaurant in the art nouveau Michelin Building (2 Michelin stars) and its glamorous, ceramic tile bedecked historic Tyre Hall that hosts our annual luncheon, he has just opened the Brooklands rooftop restaurant at the newly launched Peninsular Hotel on Hyde Park Corner (rooms start at over £1,000 a night) that we pass as we set off on the Brighton Run. Further adding to his empire are new Bosi restaurants in Mayfair and the Fulham Road. All this is in partnership with his hardworking wife Lucy, who is the person I deal with for our event at Bibendum. Standards are very high indeed, and we have been uniquely privileged to have had sole use of the restaurant for our event.
As with all high end London catering there are no longer any cheap deals, and prices have again moved on. Bibendum is of course unique, and for our club, it exudes the birth of historic motoring, and particularly De Dion Bouton as we have two ceramic plaques dedicated to our marque. This year we will again be offering a three course luncheon, but more extensive, and based on sharing platters for starters and desserts, with dedicated mains. The price will be £89 per head including service charge. The menu can be found here. There is no need to order in advance as all courses are available on the day. Such is the demand at this venue that I cannot guarantee that I will be able to book this in future years without a substantial room hire charge on top - such as we pay at the Chesterfield (which the club subsidises).
We have many members who have booked each event we have held here, so if you would like to join us again, or experience the unique atmosphere of Bibendum for the first time, please complete this order form and email it back to me and make the payment for the required number of tickets direct to our club bank as soon as possible. Numbers are strictly limited to 30. On the day you will only have to pay for your drinks. There is a highly sociable bar where members can gather for pre lunch drinks. Arrival for drinks and socialising from 12.15pm with lunch at 1pm.
